Tips

What to plant now?

It may not feel like it every day but spring is on its way so it is time to get those seedlings started! You can sow peas and broad beans direct and give long season crops, like peppers and aubergines, a good head start on a nice sunny windowsill.

What's in season?

Its time for brassicas...The recent frost has made our kale lovely and sweet. The broccoli is thinking about giving us some tasty spears. The cabbages are looking good unlike the sprouts which will not be giving us a crop this year.

What to cook?

Soup glorious soup! Hearty warming soups are perfect for cold days. Try thick soups made with root veg, broccoli or cauliflower or chunky soups with kale or cabbage.

Teacher Training

Growing and cooking training

Teacher training is an integral part of the LLF programme and an INSET training session can be arranged to take place in participating schools. In addition group training sessions are held throughout the year at the Iver Environment Centre.

Spaces on these training sessions are limited to 2 staff members from schools enrolled on the LLF programme. If you are not enrolled in the programme we may be able to provide alternative training for you so please do not hesitate to contact us.
