29.02.2012 Winter wildlife in your garden
Attracting and supporting Winter wildlife in your garden
Attracting wildlife to your garden is not only good for adding some cheer over the Winter months, but is also very important for a healthy garden habitat. Ideal shrubs and trees to attract Winter wildlife are holly, blackthorn, hawthorn, or yew - birds are particularly attracted to these berries, and the habitat of these plants is also ideal for giving them cover and space to nest and roost.
29.02.2012 FAQ: Keep birds clean & watered over Winter
Keep visting birds clean & watered over the Winter months
Providing sufficent food and cover for birds in your garden during Wintertime is not the only important way to care for them - they also need suffient water to keep them hydrated, and to stay clean and healthy. Of course, water freezes in cold temperatures, so try to provide a bird bath (or two...) that you can maintain each day. If you have the space and resources, a pond or water feature are also a good option - as well as adding an extra point of interest to your garden.
